Whitby!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I went on a school trip to Whitby last weekend which was amazing! All of my closest friends went, including Ellie, and all 5 of us shared a huge room with tall ceilings and surprisingly comfy beds! As we were driving into Whitby it was all foggy and misty which reminded us of a horror story; and that fit quite perfectly as it was a weekend themed around Dracula.

    On the first day, last Friday, we all stopped off at the cinema in Sheffield and watch The Amazing Spider-Man in 3D. Normally 3D doesn't impress me, but it definitely did this time. The film itself was incredible (I mean, it had Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in it, what more could you possibly want?) but wow! I haven't stopped talking about the 3D since I saw it, so as you can tell, it really REALLY impressed me.

    After having been flabber gasted by technology of the 21st century, we spent Saturday in Whitby going through the Dracula Experience and on a boat trip around the harbour - we couldn't go all the way out to sea because it was so misty, but everyone still enjoyed it :) That evening we went on a 2 hour ghost walk all the way around Whitby! I imagine that sounds very boring, as at first it didn't sound very appealing to me. However, it was actually really fun, we even received badges at the end - how lucky are we?!

    Finally, on the Sunday, we stopped off at the cinema in Sheffield again and watched Ice Age 4: Continental Drift. So altogether the weekend was so lovely, and I'm sure Ellie would agree, she may even do a post herself about Whitby, never know. Here are some pictures I took in Whitby - you will have to excuse the poor quality! I only used my phone to take them.



I know, it looks strange! But I can explain! One of the teachers organized a quiz and one of the rounds was to make an object out of play dough that was related to a scary story. So this is the rocking chair out of The Woman In Black ;) Everyone was just having a laugh, and I think the teacher was really upset because it looked like he'd actually spent ages organising the quiz - bless him!



   




A friend of mine, Eilis, took this picture of Ellie. She had just bumped her head on the bed and even though she does look like she is in pain, it is really funny! I hope her head is better now though.

 

I was climbing on to the top of one of the bunk-beds which at the time didn't click that I am extremely scared of heights - no matter how small or big! - so it took me about 10 minutes just to get down! I'm not going to lie to you, I was considering just staying up there forever. 





Eilis really wanted a picture with a donkey but she was too scared to get up close!



This is actually our Psychology teacher! Our friend Sophie had made a sort of "den" and as soon as Miss found out she ran straight in there! I think she looks so cute here!

Long Time No Post!

Firstly, I would like to apologise for not posting anything for what seems like ages! Honestly, I have found myself in bed pretty much for the last 2-3 weeks with migraines! And over the weekends I have either been in St.Ives or Whitby. I was in St.Ives from 29th June to 1st July, so just a lovely long weekend :) The weather was surprisingly nice, I got the chance to whip a pair of Ray Bans on (to be fair, it doesn't take a lot for that!) and even wear flip flops! Unfortunately, the whole of my family couldn't come along, so it was just me, my parents and my younger brother - which did feel a little bit weird! But anyways, here are some pictures I took: 

St.Ives



I thought this was pretty cool! We were on the (what I call) Surfing Beach, and I saw this bottle of water. It is a smaller print of the picture on the back which expands because of the water which I think makes it look awesome!



My amazing photography, haha, just joking! I just thought these flowers were gorgeous. As I was walking along the beach there was all sorts of flowers.

These are my new Havaianas flip flops. My sisters and I have wanted a pair for years but we didn't realize they were sold in the UK, so when mum and I strolled into Of The Beaten Track it was a no-brainer, we have to purchase! Now we all have the same pair but in different colour. I also went shopping in the Derby Westfield centre the other day finding an outfit for my sister (http://josieowen.blogspot.co.uk/) as it is her graduation this friday (very exciting!) and found that Havianas are sold in Schuh, so now i want a pair of them with Mickey Mouse on that I saw - so cute!



You can't go to St.Ives with out having a Cream Tea, right?



I hope you like the pictures, I just love St.Ives! That is where we would holiday for weeks on end growing up, and all the family (I'm talking Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents, the works!) and friends would join us and we all have so many memories from there. And over the past couple of years I have actually realized how much I love the fashion there. I had always loved the ankle bracelets and hair braids, and still do, but now they have such delicious clothes, shoes and, of course, accessories! I definitely recommend St.Ives to everyone! You could even learn to surf - I really want to! Have any of you ever been to St.Ives or learnt how to surf? If you have you will have to let me know ;)

I mentioned that I went to Whitby, so I will do a post on that very soon!

Lip Care

I don't really buy lip care or just lip products in general but i use theese three products and so i just wanted to show the few products that I use and i've been using lately. I have a lipstick, lip gloss and a lip care product.

Lipgloss- Natural Collection

I bought this colour of the Natural Collections lip gloss' a month or two ago when Dom, Dom's mum and me went to Derby, Westfield. We had a quick glance around the shops and I said to my self don't buy anything little like lipgloss or nail polish; because i need to go shopping for Whitby with my mum and sometimes I never end up using them. We nipped into Boots and I already had tried the natural collection lip gloss which was the barley sugar colour but i really liked the colour of this lip gloss which is called fondant. The colour is so summery and i love the natural collection products. Also the products aren't that expensive, just £1.99 for the lip glosss which is ace becasue it's not pricey at all. The only thing is that the lip gloss isn't that long lasting but that's the only thing.

Lipstick- Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter

I really love the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter which i have in the colour Peach Parfait (025). I have been wanting to try the new lip butters for ages and bought it when i was with Dom and Eilis. We went into town (again haha) after staying at Doms and watching Women In Black that night which was probably a bad idea because the film is so scary. With all the shops we wanted to go in done. I nipped and got the lipstick after me taking forever to choose a colour. I don't normally buy lipstick but I thoguht I would deffiantly try Revlons Lip Butter. I love that the lipstick is a lip butter because it's so soft and i love the range of colours. The price of the lipstick is £7.99 which is a little pricey but not too expensive. Again the only thing wrong is that it may melt or be ruined easily but thats it. I do reccomend this product, i love it.

Lip Care- The Little Pink Tin

I know this isn't the most exciting product to blog about but i deffinatly think it's a must have thing. I don't really use vaseline that much; well not as much as I should but I like this product. The packaging is so cute and it's so good to just put in your bag or in my case my school blazer pocket. I always take this to school with me and just does it's job; keeping thoose dreaded cracked lips at bay (sounding like an advert). It's from Superdrug and costs £1.39. I think any vaseline or lip care product is great but i like the little pink tin.

Meet: Newest member of my wardrobe

American apparel hoodies are essential for my wardrobe, I wear them with literally every outfit! I did have 3, but I decided that I needed to invest in a new one. So this is just a short post to show you which one I chose. Do you like it?

P.S Yes, notice how I said invest? It’s because it is true! They are an investment

Collar Necklace

I am obsessed with this collar necklace I bought from Dorothy Perkins. I love Dorothy Perkins in itself really! I purchased this necklace in late April, and they still have it in stock I think, as one of my sisters was looking into buying it too (http://josieowen.blogspot.co.uk/ ). Actually, both of my sisters love this neckalce, I'd say I'm practically touching their approval sometimes :) hehe!

Multi-use mannequin!

When I was little, I always dreamt of being a fashion designer (along with a teacher, a singer, an actress, a make-up artist, a baker etc!) and I have always loved clothes. It finally clicked to me that it is possible to make your own clothes last year, so I bought some material and got stuck into it. I had always said that I would like a mannequin since I can remember, but I talk so much that I didn’t think my parents actually listened to me, just agreed. But it turns out that they do actually listen, so roll on 3^rd February 2012 and I was given a mannequin as a birthday gift off my parents. At first my friends and I just dressed it up for fun, and then I realized that mannequins really are multi-use! I have discovered that, along with using them to help when making clothes, that you can use them for holding earrings. We all know that earrings can be difficult to keep track of if you don’t have a jewellery box, and they can ruin (especially feather earrings,) so I keep a lot of my earrings on my mannequin.

I obviously don’t have this many on all the time, I just put this amount on to show you. I find this is a really good way of keeping track to your earrings and other accessories.

As well as using the mannequin for holding earrings and accessories, I tend to use mine to put outfits on if I have plans for the next day.  I also put my jewellery and accessories that I will wear with the outfit on it too. For example, tomorrow I am going to the cinema with my cousin and some of my brothers and sisters (we will probably take up the whole cinema screen with the amount of us going! Big family!) so I will wear this lion top my sister gave me with some red ear studs and a turtle ring I purchased from a “Looky Looky Man” on a beach in Sardinia last year.

Shake it like a Polaroid Picture!

 I remember Polaroid cameras being really cool! Every member of my family (cousins and all) had a Polaroid camera at one point. Then we would all dance with our Polaroid Pictures shaking them to “Hey Ya” by OutKast. Everyone did do that right? Haha, it might have just been my family! But anyways, about 2 years ago I was with Ellie and another of my friends sat in an English lesson and we started to sing “Hey Ya”! It was very random, but all of our English lessons used to be! A couple of weeks later, my sister Josie (http://josieowen.blogspot.co.uk/) purchased a FUJIFILM instant camera – basically a Polaroid camera!

My obsession with Polaroid cameras continued, and so did Ellie’s and our other friends! It came to my birthday this year and I asked for one, but Josie just offered me hers. So now I buy the film and Josie lets me use the camera and I let my brothers and sisters take pictures too. I took loads of pictures on my birthday and I took it on my school trip to France with me and I took a couple of pictures then too.

    Then last weekend, a friend of mine was staying round and “Hey Yah” came on the music channel. Of course we danced like crazy to it! And then we posed for a Polaroid Picture, oh and then we did “shake it like a Polaroid picture!” I know it was cheesy, but I had to be done/said!

My younger brother was having a sleepover too (house full!), so when his friends found out we were using a Polaroid camera, they decided they wanted to take a picture too. This one was just one of my brother’s friends taking it! I just stood there putting the one of my friend and I on my wall, and he was convinced that this would be a picture perfect moment.

This final one was actually an accident! I was just sat there with Dan (my brother’s friend who took the other picture) and the other friend took this one accidentally! He felt so bad as well! He even offered to pay for it, but honestly I didn’t mind. I quite like this picture, we weren’t posing for it, just chilling J
