Bank Holiday Weekend ♥

Recently, I have come to realise how much the little things matter to me. Don't get me wrong, I have always had this view, yet sometimes the idea of simple things making me happy manages to float away without me even recognising. Myself and Ellie finish Year 11 in 7 school days (D:!!) which means that we will be doing an awful lot of studying (hence, "study leave") in order to - hopefully - pass our exams. As you undoubtedly know, exam period can bring loads of pressure, and in my case, worrying. Which is why, even though it happens every year, I was so unbelievably please that last weekend brought along a bank holiday!

Last weekend seemed to have arrived without me even noticing, or having time to plan anything exciting to do on the actual bank holiday. Therefore, I decided to go with the flow, and just chill - maybe take the dog on a walk, see some friends... You know? That sort of day :)

Without making any plans for the Monday, over the weekend, I found myself keeping busy :) On Saturday late afternoon/early evening, a few of my closest friends came round to my house to watch films, eat way too much food and listen to music. As well as this, I taught my friends how to make hair bows! (Post coming up soon!) Although some of my friends couldn't make it :( We still had a lovely night, the sort of one you will not forget :)

We watched the Katy Perry Movie, took some funny Polaroids and talked about everything and anything. As we are all going our separate ways for sixth form etc, it was lovely to spend the night together!

As for Sunday, another one of my closest friends came round for a Camp Rock day! Yes, I understand that does sounds really strange, but we both have a ridiculously strong love for Camp Rock (Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato - what's not to love?!). So, we sat in my room and watched both the films, one after the other :) We also had a lovely BBQ, and too took lots of funny piccies and Polaroids.

Monday morning, my sisters called me up to see if I wanted to go shopping at Meadowhall in Sheffield. Rather uncharacteristically of myself, I declined the offer in order to stay at home at revise (what is happening to me?!). However, an hour or so later, my Dad called me up asking me to join him on a day trip to Scotland. Again, I declined. Yet I realized that he would be by himself all day, I have really wanted to go to Scotland for ages now and who doesn't love a bit of Father-Daughter time? :)

I got ready in record time, and started my journey to Scotland!

On the way I did have to do some homework and revision in preparation for my exams, but it was fine. Although, I am absolutely awful at maths :/
Soon enough, it was around 2o'clock, so we decided to stop off for some lunch. My dad took me to a little cafe that he loves, but it wasn't open :( We carried on driving until we found this adorable little pub style restaurant.

The decoration was absolutely gorgeous, with jugs of famous faces, a huge log fire (it wasn't needed. We've had some lovely weather, haven't we?!) and huge brass objects, the restaurant was so comfy and definitely the sort of place I want to go back to and take all of my family/friends!

For my lunch I have delicious Salmon&Broccoli fishcakes :D

Oh my goodness! I don't think you will ever understand just how perfect these were, unless you actually try them for yourself! And who would have ever thought to put strawberries and oranges in a salad? It's genius!

On the way back, we stopped off at a little farm shop which specialised in fabrics. I couldn't leave empty handed, so I bought these:
I am really excited to make some hair bows out of these :)

Also on the way home, my Dad took a de-tour to take me through the Lake District.

If you haven't already been, you must! No matter how good with words you are, no literary device can ever describe to you how beautiful and breath-taking the views are - only you can experience it! It was really lovely to see it all, and it was so strange to think that my Mum went on holidays there! This is the same woman to counts down the days to her next weekend away in Italy!

I am so glad that I went to Scotland with my Dad, and hope to do it again soon!

My Bank Holiday Weekend was fantastic, and I would love to know how yours was, and how it was spent.
