A Typical Night For Dom&Ellie

After having spent a fair amount of time over the past couple of months attending seriously hardcore revision sessions after school, and doing extra at home in order to succeed in our January exams (sounds like Ellie has done so well! As for me ... it’s debatable) Ellie and I decided that the week that our exams for this month finished, we would do something fun. As it was a school night, we opted for a nice trip to the local Cineworld cinema to see the highly anticipated... GANGSTER SQUAD. (It may be necessary for you to know that I have a MAJOR amount of love for Mr Ryan Gosling, as does Ellie, but she doesn't go in to complete girl mode every time she sees an image of his face or hears his sweet, sweet voice).
You'd expect it to be easy. Pay for your ticket, have the ticket person rip your tickets, and walk in to the allocated screen room. Well, no. We arrived at the cinema fine - apart from the tiny disagreement I had with my Mum over road safety - and paid for our tickets fine. The person was lovely, and we got an Orange Wednesday code (bonus!). However, we - or should I say, I, as Ellie was paying no attention at all - were told to enter screen 6 to our lefts. So we sat down in a pretty good seat area, and began taking these photos:
You may have gathered by now that we CANNOT take serious pictures. We did take two others; I liked one of them, Ellie hated it, Ellie liked the other one, I hated it. We ended up with the decision not to put any of them on here. When the adverts came on, we wondered why they were pretty violent films being advertised, but we just agreed that they must be certificate 15 films too. 15-20 minutes after the adverts began, we were getting pretty bored - as anyone would- but luckily (we thought) the certificate thingy came on. Turns out, we had been sat in the WRONG screen to the past 35 minutes. Before we knew it, 'Django' began, and all we could hear was the 'Django' theme tune and guns.
Myself and Ellie were literally scared. In all fairness, I was way more panicky than Ellie. We just stared at each other. In the end, I told Ellie to make it look like we were going to the toilets. When we left screen 6, we did just burst out with laughter and rummaged through our purses to find the ticket with the correct screen number on. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD SCREEN 8 TO THE RIGHT. The very unfortunate consequence to this was that we missed around half an hour of the film we actually wanted to go and see. Sniff, Sniff :'( Oh know,we will just have to go and see it again *sarcastic tone*. There was only two other people in there when we entered screen 8, so I don't know if that made the situation worse. I soon realized that I had left my beloved gloves in screen 6! Honestly, if anyone has ever had such a sentimental attachment to a pair of mittens, then it's me. I sat there convincing Ellie to run back to screen 6 to get the gloves for me. As the truly loyal friend Ellie is, after a slight push in that direction, Ellie said - I quote - "I know how much those gloves mean to you," and off she went in search of them! A short while later, Ellie came back to screen 8 - slightly out of breath after having been running from screen-to-screen so she wouldn't miss anymore of the film - with my beautiful gloves! All was well for Dom&Ellie as we watched the rest of an AMAZING FILM! There were a few parts where one of us winced away -quite a violent film- however we still really enjoyed it. What's not to love?! You've got Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone on screen together (they have so much chemistry), GANGSTERS, cops wearing very nice suits, and a bit of thrill :) Ignoring the typical Dom&Ellie events that happened at the cinema, (which ended up being absolutely hilarious) Ellie and I definitely recommend going to see this film if you haven't already been. As I have mentioned, there are some quite violent parts, but Ruben Fleischer (the director) and Will Beall (writer) balanced it out fantastically with a bit of romance, and love within families. Inspired by a true story, and based on a book by Paul Lieberman - Gangster Squad, I am going to have to read this - this film is, in mine and Ellie's opinion, a must see, and one which you will not forget! I am now going to leave you with a couple of beautiful images, courtesy of Google :)
And another one...
Well, we might as well throw another one in there for good luck...
Ohh, and a cheeky one from Crazy Stupid Love which has not a lot to do with this post. How did that get in there?!
You're welcome ;) Have you seen Gangster Squad? Or are you planning on going? Ellie and I would love to hear! -Love Dom x

Snow Fun!

Unless you've been living under a rock, you may have noticed the snow! We all know how much the UK panics when we get a dusting, so mine and Ellie’s school ended up closing a couple of hours early on Friday (we are not complaining!) and I suppose that there is a slight possibility that the school will be shut tomorrow too, especially if it keeps on snowing (fingers crossed) however, I highly doubt it. Wearing at least ten layers each, yesterday, Ellie and I decided to venture all the way to the top of my garden to go to the field which is linked to my garden and attempt to sledge. It turned out that we weren't too sure how to work a sledge, so we decided to roll down the hill and make snow angles (as well as various snowball fights - I'd say that I won them in all fairness) instead :) Here are a few piccies of our mini adventure :)
How cool does the chicken coop look?! As well as all of the fun, in only one trip to my Grandparents house, I had about 5 near-death experiences. The roads were, and most of them still are, very icy! However, both myself and my neighbour think that our road looks so pretty in the snow!
When I was at my Grandparents house, I noticed that no-one had touched the snow on their garden (well, until I walked on it to take these photies) and how gorgeous it looked.
Their bench just looks so beautiful with all of it’s detailing!
Ellie and I would both love to know if you're enjoying the snow! My little pooch, Archie is!

If You Wish To Be A Writer, Write...

Recently, my Mum and I popped in to T K Maxx. We don't normally go in there, but honestly, this time we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience! In the past when I have been in, I have found that it was completely un-organized and I could never really find anything to buy. Whereas this time, I could have spent loads of £! I decided that I was going to buy a notebook/journal for myself.
I have always had a slight obsession with notebooks, and I knew that I had always wanted one just like this. Also, it was only £3.99 :) I am seriously, so in love with it! I'm not saying that I am going to be a writer when I am older, it's just a dream for me, but I think that what it says is so inspirational. When I picked it up, I thought, well it says what most people want to hear. If you want to do something, just do it! In this I will be writing ideas for blog posts, nice things which I hear and - knowing me - probably lists! I am constantly thinking of ideas for stories or just nice things so I will probably be writing these down so I never forget them :) I am very excited :) Hope you are well - Love Dom x

Lush Face Masks

Hiya guys :) how are you all?. Hope your all having an amazing new year so far and what have you been up to so far this year?. I'm really sorry I haven't done any posts recently because Dom and I have just been so busy revising for exams. As Dom said we've both been to peter pan, bowling (we were just amazing and I mean amazing haha) and other things so far this year. On the 1st of January it was doms brilliant mums birthday but also my auntys. We all decorated the house and things for her birthday to make it lovely and she loved it! So today I thought i'd do a post on some of the lush face masks i've got. Dom kindly bought me for christmas (love you!) the catastrophe cosmetic which is so soothing and makes my skin feel so fresh. All of the lush face masks are freshly made and smell gorgeous. The catastrophe cosmetic is a blueberry mask with chamomile and irish moss which soothes skin. Heres the tub it comes in and the date it needs to be used by:
The other facemask I got when my mum and I went shopping and it's called cupcake. This litreally smells amazing. It's like a starter face mask and is for teenage skin which is perfect for me. Cupcake has ingredients like cocoa butter and powder, linseed and peppermint and it's lovely.
Have you tried any of the fresh masks? and we'd love to know about your plans for this year and hope you have the most loveliest year and fulfill anything you want to do this year:) Love Ellie xx

Superdrug&Boots

I hope that you are all enjoying your year so far! Ellie and I have been keeping busy by going to see Peter Pan
Going bowling with my brother and his friend
(We decided that we adore bowling shoes, and they are super comfy! What do you think? Could we bring them in for everyday use?) And, of course, LOADS of revision and homework in preparation for our January exams. Anyways! After having been stuck in my house all weekend revising, I decided that today I would take a trip to Superdrug and Boots as I knew that there were some things which I wanted needed to pick up. In Superdrug I bought these two Aussie hair products.
I wanted to try the 3 minute miracle, but the Aussie section just so happened to be on 2 for £5.99, therefore I decided that it would be rude not to buy 2 items! As for the shampoo, I had been eyeing this up online, so I thought that I might as well buy it considering the AMAZING offer :) I am hoping to do a review on these 2 products ASAP! Although I will tell you one thing, the Shampoo is such an amazingly vibrant blue and the 3 minute miracle smells delicious! I cannot wait to see how my hair looks tomorrow. After Superdrug I popped (literally, I was in and out surprisingly quick! My mum even said it herself!) in to boots where I picked up some hair bobbles and hand sanitizer.
These bobbles are seriously so fantastic. They last me ages and do not tug on my hair; they are extremely comfortable. Also, they don't ruin my hair. It sounds strange - I know - but some hair bobbles I used to use began damaging my hair, so these ones are super-duper.
I needed some of these for when I put plaits (or designs where you can see the bobble) in my hair but I don't want big purple bobbles sticking out of the side of my head! Hehe, in hindsight, I probably should have bought the clear ones as these are slightly darker than my hair. Oh well, these will do the job :)
And I just had to show you this hand sanitizer! It is my favourite one! Yes, I have a favourite hand sanitizer... It is very moisturizing and doesn't sting if you have little cuts on your hand! Carex always (in my opinion) do the best hand cleaners. Just the other week I bought about 4 big bottles and 3 little bottles and forced my family to all have one so we don’t get ill. I remember I used to have a hand and surface spray which was by Carex and was amazing, but I can't find it anywhere anymore :( So if you know where I can buy it, PPPPPLLLLLLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSEEEEEEE let me know :) Thanks! Love Dom x

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!
Myself and Ellie are so excited for the year ahead of us; we have already decided on loads of things what we are going to do! Have you? On New Years Eve I was having a bit of a downer saying that 2013 is going to be really boring and rubbish basically! However, a dear friend of mine told me that every year is going to be the same, we are going to do the same things everyday, but it's what we make of it and what we decide to do with it that makes our life so much more exciting. And in all fairness, she was right! After having heard this I reminisced on the year 2012 and came to the conclusion that as much as I do love all of the extravagance of life, it is just the silly little things which make us happy and carry on in our day-to-day lives! Therefore, this made me realize that 2013 holds so much for myself and Ellie, we are both pretty happy people meaning pretty much everything we do is funny or a slight adventure! For this year I have decided that I am going to use this jar:
to document all of the things which I have been up to and things which have made me happy or laugh (etc) so at the end of the year I can read through them all and realize how much of a (hopefully) tremendous year I have had! For New Years Eve night Ellie and I both stayed in at home with our family. As every year, my family and I watched Jools Holland, drank Champagne and set off a couple of fireworks. We don't really do a party on NYE because on New Years Day it is my Mums birthday (and Ellie's Aunties birthday!). Happy birthday to my fantastic Mum and Ellie’s lovely Aunty! Anyways, we would love to know how you spent your NYE! We hope that happiness and love comes your way all year and that you have a fantastic year! And if you do ever feel like life is becoming a bit boring, just remember what I wrote above (what my friend told me) about making life what you want it to be :) Lots of love from Dom&Ellie xx

Merry Christmas!

Christmas has got to be mine and Ellies favourite time of the year. We start preparing around the end of September! So we are super duper excited that it is here now :) We went to get our nails manicured last Thursday and here is how mine turned out:
I normally would have gone for what Ellie opted for, and Ellie would have gone for what I chose, but we decided to swap it up a little. I think we will make this a yearly event honestly. Last year -as of every other year- I am extremely lucky and receive many beautiful gifts. Here is what I got last year.
Daisy, Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs. This set came with a full size lotion, bottle of perfume and a cute mini travel/handbag size perfume. I love this so, so much. I'd say I wear this practically every day! I definitely recommend this if you are looking for something new in the perfume department!
Clogau Welsh Gold is a tradition for the women in my family, so I was so happy when I opened this up last Christmas! I hadn't even put it on my list, I just kept saying to my Mum that I would love a piece of Welsh Gold jewellery which I can wear every day. I am a very lucky girl! And I do wear this every day. The only time I take it off is when I am baking or at the gym/swimming or doing PE. You wouldn't believe the amount of compliments I have received about this beauty :)
YEY! I love Harry Potter, I must have watched all of these DVDs at least 6-7 (more) each this year, and each time they just get better!
Aah, my Kenwood! This also came with several attachments and a smoothie maker and a food processor. I probably use this once a week. Baking is such an obsession of mine - I am still so thankful for this :)
I am still so surprised that I got this sewing machine as well as everything else last year! I love it so much, and I used it over the Christmas period to cover my foam letters for my wall which a friend cut out for me. You can't really see them properly - sorry!
Whenever myself and Ellie write out our Christmas lists (yeah we still write them!) we feel really bad, so we try to keep them as short as possible ...
This year, my list consists of things such as the perfume Dot by Marc Jacobs, a Crepe Machine and some socks! Yet I will be very thankful for everything that I receive, we will just have to wait and see what Santa brings me! This year we are having some friends over for Christmas day - we did the same last year and it was so lovely! So I am really looking forward to it. It will be a day full of turkey, mince pies, charades and lots of fun and happy times! I would love to know how you are spending your Christmas this year! And what you are hoping for! Merry Christmas! Love Dom xx MERYY CHRISTMAS GUYS! I just have to say I'm so sorry that I haven't done any blog posts lately and it's been Dom posting lovely posts, but we've just been so busy with exams and things. Anyway, it's Christmas and as Dom said it's must our favourite time of year by far. With all the beautiful Christmas decorations, being with family and friends, Christmas dinner, giving and receiving presents and all the other great things about Christmas. We've been excited for about 4 months and it's just the best time of year. So in my house we've put up all the decorations which look very pretty (not like Dom’s winter wonderland house :) ) but we love the decorations. Dom and I decided we reallY needed to get our nails done. We went on thursday, so we would have them all lovely for the last day at school before we broke up for Christmas. We love our nails an dthey are just amazing. Also the people at the place we wen to are just lovely :). Here are my nails which are a burgundy colour which really suit Christmas and glittery gold on my ring finger.
Last Christmas (bit of wham! Christmas song) I got a lot of presents, more than I should of. I really got clothes, vouchers, perfumes and loads more, which were just the perfect presents. I also got some lovely earrings for Christmas last year which are so beautiful but I've only worn them once or twice, so i will definitely be wearing them more.
Another present I got last year which was from my mum and dad and it was a gigantic box just full of beauty products which would last me throughout most of the year which was brilliant. I was very spoilt by my all my family and friends and just loved all of my presents. This year we've both tried to keep our lists as small as possible. I just feel so bad because my list is quite long this year. On my list I’ve asked for clothes, DVD’s and a Cath Kidston bag. I will be so thankful and grateful for any presents I receive but most of all I just would love an ace Christmas. This year I’ll be going to see all my wonderful family Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day just relaxing and having fun. Then, I will be visiting some of my family later in the week. I hope you all have a lovely and magical Christmas with family and friends. Also we'd absolutely love to know what you’re all planning for this Christmas and Happy Christmas :) Love from Ellie xxx
