Meet: Newest member of my wardrobe

American apparel hoodies are essential for my wardrobe, I wear them with literally every outfit! I did have 3, but I decided that I needed to invest in a new one. So this is just a short post to show you which one I chose. Do you like it?

P.S Yes, notice how I said invest? It’s because it is true! They are an investment

Collar Necklace

I am obsessed with this collar necklace I bought from Dorothy Perkins. I love Dorothy Perkins in itself really! I purchased this necklace in late April, and they still have it in stock I think, as one of my sisters was looking into buying it too (http://josieowen.blogspot.co.uk/ ). Actually, both of my sisters love this neckalce, I'd say I'm practically touching their approval sometimes :) hehe!

Multi-use mannequin!

When I was little, I always dreamt of being a fashion designer (along with a teacher, a singer, an actress, a make-up artist, a baker etc!) and I have always loved clothes. It finally clicked to me that it is possible to make your own clothes last year, so I bought some material and got stuck into it. I had always said that I would like a mannequin since I can remember, but I talk so much that I didn’t think my parents actually listened to me, just agreed. But it turns out that they do actually listen, so roll on 3rd February 2012 and I was given a mannequin as a birthday gift off my parents. At first my friends and I just dressed it up for fun, and then I realized that mannequins really are multi-use! I have discovered that, along with using them to help when making clothes, that you can use them for holding earrings. We all know that earrings can be difficult to keep track of if you don’t have a jewellery box, and they can ruin (especially feather earrings,) so I keep a lot of my earrings on my mannequin.

I obviously don’t have this many on all the time, I just put this amount on to show you. I find this is a really good way of keeping track to your earrings and other accessories.

As well as using the mannequin for holding earrings and accessories, I tend to use mine to put outfits on if I have plans for the next day.  I also put my jewellery and accessories that I will wear with the outfit on it too. For example, tomorrow I am going to the cinema with my cousin and some of my brothers and sisters (we will probably take up the whole cinema screen with the amount of us going! Big family!) so I will wear this lion top my sister gave me with some red ear studs and a turtle ring I purchased from a “Looky Looky Man” on a beach in Sardinia last year.

My sisters boyfriend bought one too, and I swear they have magic powers or something! Hope you like the post and if you want to know where any of the jewellery pieces or accessories are from, just comment below and I will let you know ;) xo

Shake it like a Polaroid Picture!

I remember Polaroid cameras being really cool! Every member of my family (cousins and all) had a Polaroid camera at one point. Then we would all dance with our Polaroid Pictures shaking them to “Hey Ya” by OutKast. Everyone did do that right? Haha, it might have just been my family! But anyways, about 2 years ago I was with Ellie and another of my friends sat in an English lesson and we started to sing “Hey Ya”! It was very random, but all of our English lessons used to be! A couple of weeks later, my sister Josie (http://josieowen.blogspot.co.uk/) purchased a FUJIFILM instant camera – basically a Polaroid camera!
My obsession with Polaroid cameras continued, and so did Ellie’s and our other friends! It came to my birthday this year and I asked for one, but Josie just offered me hers. So now I buy the film and Josie lets me use the camera and I let my brothers and sisters take pictures too. I took loads of pictures on my birthday and I took it on my school trip to France with me and I took a couple of pictures then too.
Then last weekend, a friend of mine was staying round and “Hey Yah” came on the music channel. Of course we danced like crazy to it! And then we posed for a Polaroid Picture, oh and then we did “shake it like a Polaroid picture!” I know it was cheesy, but I had to be done/said!

My younger brother was having a sleepover too (house full!), so when his friends found out we were using a Polaroid camera, they decided they wanted to take a picture too. This one was just one of my brother’s friends taking it! I just stood there putting the one of my friend and I on my wall, and he was convinced that this would be a picture perfect moment.

This final one was actually an accident! I was just sat there with Dan (my brother’s friend who took the other picture) and the other friend took this one accidentally! He felt so bad as well! He even offered to pay for it, but honestly I didn’t mind. I quite like this picture, we weren’t posing for it, just chilling J
Do you have a Polaroid camera? And do you want to see my other Polaroid pictures?

Trevor Sorbie - Mostiure Mask

The Trevor Sorbie moisture mask is a great way to get hair shiny and as obsessed Dom and I are with hair products; i just couldn't not try them. When I was shopping I decided to look around the cosmetic shops when i came across the Trevor Sorbie products which i had never come across or even tried. I bought the moisture mask and a couple of the other products which i will blog to you about once i've tried them. The mask is great from the times i've used it and gives your hair the shine and moisture needed. This product is to be used once a week and just really gives your hair an extra shine. The moisture mask is only part of a large range called the beautiful hair collection. This contains shampoos, conditioners, cream, mold masks and sprays which suit your hair type. This range contains beautifully straightened, beautifully moisturised, beautiful volume and curl defining products. The products are usually in the price range of £5-£6 but are now in Boots as 2 for £6. The only thing really is that if you do use too much of the product when using it each week; hair may become more oily than expected.

Sisterly love! - Take 2

I know I only just updated the blog with a post called 'Sisterly love', but I just have to share this foundation from NARS, that one of my sisters ( http://josieowen.blogspot.co.uk/ ) bought for me!
I'm so lucky to have 2 older sisters to help me when purchasing make up. I remember http://josieowen.blogspot.co.uk/ taking me to the MAC counter in Harvey Nicholls in Leeds for the first time ever about 3 years ago, and I fell in love with make up and everything about it! I then got a full face of make up done, only with tinted moisturiser, blusher and mineralize skin finish though. I didn't want too much on, I was only about 12! Then another time I was at the Chanel counter and Josie made sure I was given the correct foundation for my skin tone, and that the woman wasn't too snobby with me! Hehe.
Anyways (going a bit off subject!) this foundation is amazing honestly! I had to work with it a bit at first as it seemed a bit orange for me, but now i know to put it on evenly and it makes my skin look flawless. I always feel extra confident when I wear this, so thank you http://josieowen.blogspot.co.uk/ ! xo

Today's outfit

Today I am wearing a dress that I bought about 2 or 3 months ago from Matalan. It can be worn with tights and leggings :) I found this in a magazine and fell in love with it's tribal/aztec print. The dress is good for all occasions, it can be a simple day dress or dressed up for going out. Every one needs a nice throw-on outfit like this!

I have worn it as a simple day dress, and paired it with this amazing ring I found in the Derby Westfield centre, in a shop called Muse. I buy most of my jewellery from this shop, and even though I bought it 2 months ago, I am still so please to have found this ring there. I had been looking for one like this for ages! xo

Sisterly love!

My two older sisters’ are always generously giving me clothes, make up, accessories etc. They buy them, try them out and decide they don't want them. So, as they are both very similar in make up shades and tastes in clothes etc, they both end up giving them to me! I probably get something new off them at least once every two weeks. Lucky me :) And on Sunday, one of my sisters came home from her boyfriend's house and decided that the top she was wearing (which she had only just put on) was too short for her and she didn't like it. So she stood there and took it off, offering it to me! (Don't worry, she had a top on underneath!) This is the top:

I love this top; it's really nice and simple. As I am going on a school trip in a couple of weeks, and then the day after another school trip for the whole weekend, I have decided to pair this some black skinny’s and some cute accessories. 1 out of 4 outfits needed - check!
Also, I love this little bit of extra detailing at the collar. I believe it adds something to the top, I’m not sure how to describe it thought, but without this, I personally think that the top would be too plain.

As I came home from school today, the same sister handed me this top.

I really like this top, and I’ve been searching everywhere for the perfect top with this sort of style. This may be the one! I think I will end up wearing it like it is shown in the image above with a baggy cardi or jumper, however, I think that it looks nice like this too :)

I took a picture of the back of the top to show you all as well. I like how the lace just fits in perfectly, and looks in place :)

I will probably wear this with jeans mostly, but it will also look nice with leggings, or even a coloured mini skirt for the summer. Another of the 4 outfits needed - check!
Both of these tops are from Primark. I don't normally succeed in finding anything that I want to buy when I go into a Primark store, as I find it is too disorganized. I end up picking a few things up, trying them on in the boiling changing rooms, and walking out of the shop dissatisfied and bag less! Ellie also finds some lovely outfits from Primark. She was wearing a white lace top with a black peter pan collar from there the other day, and now I really want it! I don't know why I never find anything, I go in with an open mind but I think I might just send Ellie or my sisters in for me next time, then I’m sure I will be happy :)
I will do another post in a couple of weeks when I have all 4 of the outfits I need, and show them to you all. xo

I love... shower smoothies

I love the I love... shower scrubs, i was recently bought the i love products as a Christmas present and since then i have kept on using them. I had seen them before and was wondering whether to buy some of the products but i decided not to. Then a family member bought me some of the products at Christmas and i have began to keep using the products for a few months. Only the other day i was telling Dom how much i liked the product especially the shower scrubs. The shower scrubs are great for keeping skin smooth and feeling refreshed. The products are not expensive what so ever; at the low price of  £2.05 but the products are only sold in the store Superdrug. I really recommend theese products and also they aren't pricey at all :)

Dove Hair Therapy

Ellie and I are both obsessed with trying new hair products, so couple of weeks ago when I was in my local Tesco store and was looking at the hair products I found the Dove Colour Radiance Leave-in Conditioning & Care Spray. I automatically picked it up and read the label and description on the back which said that it works of two levels: one layer contains Fibre Actives which have be proven to penetrate into each hair fibre, and the other has UV Filter that helps to prevent colour fade.
After reading the very tempting description I remember thinking, this is more of an investment - at around £3.99 - rather than feeling guilty about buying myself something, so I bought it. The product can be used on wet hair or dry hair, which I found hard to believe! However, I thought that I would give it ago and first tried it on straightened dry hair. Surprisingly, it worked really well! It only left a slight wave in my dry hair which I thought was brilliant as I was expecting it to go curly and greasy!
I then tried it on wet hair after already having shampooed my hair, and that worked brilliantly as well. It left my hair feeling extremely smooth and in good condition all the way from the roots to the ends. Usually, if I use normal conditioner I only use it on my ends, as I had to find out the hard way (greasy hair) that you weren't supposed to condition you're roots, but I can use this all the way up my (fairly long) hair, almost to the roots, and it doesn't turn greasy! It also leaves a nice glossy shine to my hair which maintains, along with a vibrant colour, through out uses, which I love. I definitely recommend trying :)
